What We Do....
The Florence Islamic Center is a registered non-profit organization in South Carolina. We have applied for Federal non-profit status.
The Center has a bank account established for fundraising and follows standard accounting and accountability practices. The Center’s accounts are open for members of the public to review.
We have started outreach activities to inform the community, state and neighboring states about our project in order to raise the required funds.
Our Community....
The Pee Dee Muslim community consists mainly of small/micro business owners. There are approximately 200 muslim families in the Pee Dee region.
Due to their poor financial status, it is not possible for the community alone to fund the project in its entirety. Through the Florence Islamic Center we hope to attract and retain families who would raise the wealth profile of the local muslim community.
Many such muslims currently travel to Columbia, SC or to neighboring states to find a masjid and Islamic education for their children.
